I love horror games
But I can't deal with jumpscares so I don't play really scary ones
Short indie horror games
- A Date in the Park
- PRICE
- Shut In
- Simulacra
- Unheard
- World Of Horror (demo)
- Pretty much any small recent Itch.io game
- OK I'm going to include mystery and RPG maker games here too:
- Confess My Love
- At Home Alone
- The Crooked Man
- Silver Thread (I think this is like a demo game)
- Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus (surprisingly pretty fun very short mystery game. Not bad acting in this one either, live action in games is still an ick for me though)
- The Coffin of Andy and Leyley dev had some other horror/horror-comedy games which I played. They were good IMO. -OK I found the names in my Ren'Py installation: The games I played were Divilethion and Better Half. I don't know if they're available anywhere anymore, unfortunately. Were they, in hindsight, kinda sus? sure. However I am of the opinion that (hot take) creators put kink stuff in their work all the time and if it's well hidden it usually works out fine. I did not find these games gross when I played them and I'm someone who usually finds fetish stuff gross if it's not something I'm personally into. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but if the creator felt a need to delete, then obviously that's their prerogative.
- Fran Bow (Played about 2/3 of it on my friend's Steam account in middle school, we stopped being friends because she had anger issues so I never got to finish it :P)
- Doki Doki Literature Club (I liked this game a lot when I first played it but I hate what it's come to represent. However the Game Grumps playthrough is very fun)
